Fingerprint dust removal deals with the forensic residue left behind after a police investigation – the fine powder used to lift fingerprints from surfaces during a crime scene investigation. It's a fine, often oily powder that clings to surfaces and standard cleaning frequently just smears it rather than removing it.
Property owners in Saint Louis, MO call us for this after law enforcement has completed a fingerprint investigation on their property, often as part of a larger crime scene or trauma cleanup, though sometimes it's the only remaining issue after the biohazard portion has already been addressed by someone else.
We identify every surface where dust was applied, since it's often used more broadly than what's immediately visible – doorframes, windows, furniture, and any surface investigators believed could hold prints. Different dust types require different removal approaches, since some are oil-based and others are more powder-form, and using the wrong method can smear or set the residue further into the surface. We use techniques suited to the specific surface material and dust type to fully lift the residue without damaging paint, wood, or other finishes underneath.
Cost depends on how many surfaces and rooms were dusted, since investigations can range from a single point of entry to an entire property.
If your Saint Louis, MO property has fingerprint dust residue from an investigation, call (833) 326-1718 and we'll get it fully cleaned up.
